Are Your Asian Greens Bolting?

Our chickens enjoying some of the seedlings that we have scrapped.
We have feed the chooks all our common rocket, tatsoi, mustard lime streaks and mizuna plants. These plants were going straight to flower (bolting) at unacceptably high rates. If you have bought these plants from us in the last 2 weeks, and your plants have bolted, please come and collect some replacement seedlings of equivalent value from the market over that next couple of weeks.

We will not be selling these plants again  until we are confident that they will grow well. We are trying to work out why this is happening. We suspect that it is either the lengthening days of spring or because we planted too early in an attempt to bring plants to market earlier. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  1. Lucky Chooks! But what a shame they went to flower.

  2. The chickens loved it and we have lots of lovely eggs. It is pretty disappointing though
