Assisting humanitarian entrants to grow their own

For the last month I have been helping some of Tasmania's  new residents learn about making compost and acquiring the ingredients needed. Using vehicles and trailers  provided by Amal Muhamud, a community worker who works  for Colony 47's settlement grants program.
Most weeks  my day starts with picking up a vehicle and trailer from New town, meeting the families I will be assisting, saying no to cups of tea (don't like hot beverages), then together we drive out to Brighton where we collect stable tailings from massive steaming piles.

the following montage of gardeners in action tells the rest of the story.
